Room Reservations

General Room Reservation Info

If you are requesting a Chemistry-controlled room, contact the appropriate staff member below. When making a reservation, include the following information:

  • The date, start time, and end time of your event
  • The name or purpose of your event
  • If your event repeats, include the start date, the end date, and the day of the week your event will recur on. Please note that group meetings must be reserved at the beginning of each semester and end the last day of that semester.
  • Contact information in case a conflict with your request arises.
  • Request your division admin to add your event/seminar to the online events calendar.

Reservations for UF registrar-controlled rooms, such as LEI207, CLB130, FLI50, should be made using the “Controlled – Chemistry (ufl.edu)” form. Please submit requests a week or more in advance as it can take several days to over a week for the registrar’s office to confirm a reservation.

All room reservations and utilization have the following housekeeping expectations:

  • Do not leave the room unlocked and unattended.
  • Turn off the lights and projector when you are finished.
  • Lock the door before you leave.
  • If your event includes food and/or beverages, place all waste in trash cans, wipe down all tables, clean the coffee maker, and clean any spills immediately (and report any stained carpets to work@chem.ufl.edu).
  • If your event occurs on a Friday, remove the trash bag and place it in a large bin located near an elevator or exterior trash can.

Chair Office Rooms Info

SFH221 is first and foremost a classroom and not always available for other seminars, visitors, or events. Due to Course Scheduling dates set by the registrar’s office, reservations for SFH221 cannot be made prior to the publication of the official Course Schedule for the semester in question.

LEI309 is the Chair’s conference room and any reservation may be cancelled if the Chair requires use of the room. You will be given as much advance notice as possible should this occur. If you are planning your Ph.D. defense in LEI309, it is strongly suggested that you have a back-up room reservation in place.

LEI 328 Info

LEI328 is the Butler Polymer Laboratory Conference Room. Only groups or individuals that have made a reservation with the Polymer Office for a given date and time have a reservation. Priority for reservations, in order, for office hours and group meetings are:

  • George & Josephine Butler Polymer Research Laboratory professors
  • Polymer Program professors
  • Other Chemistry professors

  • George & Josephine Butler Polymer Research Laboratory professors’ students
  • Polymer Program professors’ students
  • Other Chemistry professors’ students
  • Other persons

The calendar is wiped clean at the beginning of every semester, with standing reservations accepted according to the priorities listed above, not first-come-first serve.
